Welcome to lizadezdezigns.  I draw (!) inspiration from shoes, Indonesian batik and all sorts of things including Voodoo imagery, Polynesian art,  Haida tattoo designs, Mayan symbols, and the wonders of Ernst Haeckel's Art Forms of Nature. The weird creatures I think of as folky, funky, colourful and just a bit mad.  I use photoshop and I paint in oils, sometimes  on recycled canvases that I buy from op shops: I allow the textures from the first images to inform the composition or background palettes and ground. It's especially fun working over something painted by a kid because they tend to slather on paint  and you get all sorts of fun textures to work around and over. If you require illustration or design services then please get in touch via the contact page.
